Crous & Thangavel note that the DNA sequence linked to this specimen matches Acrodontium metrosideri. Cooper illustrates a fungus matching A. metrosideri morphologically (image captioned 'acrodontium-like state?') along with his images of the Septoria sp. - it appears that there are are two fungi in this collection and it is the Acrodontium rather than the Septoria that was sequenced.
